As the Cotilda brand moves into its next phase we are sharing more of our journey with you. As regular followers will know we recently undertook a photoshoot in the heart of Middlesbrough to debut the new collection.
As always, our designs are a mix of sharp tailoring, bold statement prints and exquisite colour. The Cotilda brand is all about blending influences and inspiring creativity so we were delighted to work with some incredible talents on this shoot; including the Okai brothers, Nile and Akim, make-up supremo Molly Haggath and our fantastic photographer, all the way from London, Jon Cooney. Our PR team were on-hand to capture the day and so we’re delighted to share with you some of the behind the scenes gossip and our team’s thoughts on the new collection.
The shoot took place at Bar Zero on Linthorpe, Middlesbrough. The venue is one of Middlesbrough’s newest, located a mere stone’s throw away from the eclectic vibrancy of Baker and Bedford Street, and it comes with a twist. Everything served in Bar Zero is alcohol-free and the walls are adorned with artistic prints of celebrities from Bradley Cooper to Anthony Hopkins. The natural light and laidback vibe gave us the perfect setting to capture the spirit of the new collection.
You may recognise our models, Nile and Akim Okai are very much the faces of the Cotilda brand (look out for them starring in our very latest ad campaign on YouTube!) Both have been fans of the brand and so it was a difficult choice when we asked them to pick out their favourite pieces – in the end our new longline white shirt and hoodies proved the winners.
You may recognise our make-up artist Molly from her popular Instagram page, makeup_by_moll_ where she showcases her skills on a regular basis. Another returning member of Team Cotilda, Molly loved the new collection, although she had a particular soft spot for the longline shirt too (it’s proving popular!) The look Molly went for on the shoot was natural and polished, letting the clothes take centre stage.
Finally, our photographer, Jon Cooney, produced some stunning work. It was his first time out with the team but he instantly recognised the feel our team were going for. His favourite part of the shoot was the energy everyone brought to the day. He summed the Cotilda collection perfectly, describing it as ‘urban style but very sophisticated with energy and vibrancy’. His favourite part of the collection was the printed snapback hat, although he also held a soft spot for the hoody!
